Encompassed with southern charm, Forest City provides modern innovation and some very rich history. The Historic downtown features modern boutiques, nostalgic antiques, and many “mom and pop” restaurants.

Enjoy time spent at the Pavilion on Park Square (POPS) with two splash pads, an amphitheater, workout area, and concession stand. You can also enjoy a baseball game with Forest City Owls’ at McNair Field. The Field was constructed in 2007 and named after the Forest City native and owner of the NFL’s Houston Texans, Robert McNair. Mr. McNair’s generous contribution made the construction of the stadium possible. Enjoy a round of golf at the nine-hole Forest City Municipal Golf Course, or explore the town on the Thermal Belt Trail.

Every Christmas, Forest City transforms into a magical wonderland. Main Street is illuminated with more than one million lights for the Hometown Holidays celebration. Bring the kids and meet Santa at the Santa House, go ice skating, and finish the evening off with a horse and carriage ride through the tree lit town. Forest City is where Christmas comes to life.

Forest City has been home to the headquarters of Facebook since 2010. The town is situated approximately half-way between Charlotte and Asheville and is interconnected by three US highways: 74, 221, and 64 and one state highway, 108.
